Growing rapidly over the last two decades, it now accounts for 6% of global output and employs approximately 100 million people worldwide. Since the end of World War II, it has grown enormously in revenue and development potential, and it now stands as a one-of-a-kind natural renewable resources industry.

Tourism, or travel-based recreation, offers people a change of scenery and a respite from their daily routine. It brings people from other countries together, allowing them to learn about each other's cultures and other elements of life. It highlights the geographical beauty and historical history of a country populated by people from other countries. The knowledge and experience gained during the process can lead to more tolerance and understanding, and even world peace.

Contribution of tourism or advantages/benefits/importance of tourism :

The contribution of tourism to the economy may be seen nowhere more clearly. According to a study undertaken by the United Nations, impoverished countries, in particular, can gain considerably from tourism, which enhances national GDP.

Tourism creates jobs and contributes to a country's entrepreneurial wealth. While tourism has numerous benefits, its negative side effects have created new difficulties.
