Do you know why national technology day is celebrated in India ?

1. National Technology Day is celebrated in India since May 11, 1998.
2. On this day India successfully conducted nuclear test.
3. On May 13, 1998, 2 nuclear tests were also conducted.
4. These trials were led by former President APJ Abdul Kalam.
5. National Technology Day was celebrated for the first time on 11 May 1999.
6. This was announced by the then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Bajpai.
From this day till today, the Technology Development Board honors and encourages its scientists and engineers for their contribution in the technical field. Let us inform that Pokhran was successfully tested by scientists, DRDO (Defence Research and Development Organisation), Bhabha Atomic Research Center (BARC) and ADER (Atomic Minerals Directorate for Exploration and Research). This was the reason that India was able to make thermonuclear weapons.
Not only this, but on the day of National Technology Day, Hansa-1, which was India's first aircraft, took off. Apart from this, DRDO also successfully test-fired Trishul missile on the same day. It is a missile that strikes its target rapidly.
